EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional 12.9 Review
Introduction
We have all ran into an issue before. Accidentally formatted an SD card or deleted important files (pictures, documents, etc..) and feared the worst. Years ago that may have been the case for home users not so savvy on getting data back using Linux tools and other such tools, until software developers started improving the tools available to us at a reasonable price. The software touts 3 steps to recover data, this something we will see in our test later in the article.
Installation
First steps always is to download the software. Open your browser and go to https://www.easeus.com/datarecoverywizardpro/. Once you have it downloaded just double click to start the installation. The installation is only a few clicks and you are ready to go.
Once you open EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard you are presented with a very clean interface where you will see any drives on your system.
The Interface
The interface is fairly simple. You can scan any disks the program sees or locations. Just select what you want to scan and click scan (step 1).
Next we will be presented with what the scan found.
Next select what you want to restore and click Recover (Step 2).
A window file explorer interface will appear for you to choose a destination for you recover. Select it and click OK (Step 3).
The recovery process will appear and restore your data.
And thats all there is to it. Just as they state, three steps.
The Test
As it happens I had a real test for the Recovery Wizard. A client came in a panic where a 32 GB SD card in the camera was formatted and over 900 photos from a wedding shoot looked to be all lost. What a perfect way to test out the software that touts recovering from formatted SD cards.
AFter inserting the SD card in my system and doing a refresh in the EaseUS interface I saw the SD card. Followed using the wizard and to my amazement all the photos were there. As with an earlier simple test I had my fingers crossed that the 941 RAW Canon images would be restored. I clicked Recover and set the location and let the tool work. It took sometime to complete but this was expected for 25.3 GB of data to be retrieved.
Once the recovery was completed, the tool opened the folder I had selected and to my amazement all photos had been restored. Note: Before I tried the recovery I browsed the SD card and no files were displayed.
Conclusion
All I can say is wow! Most products I have tried in the past would have only recovered a portion and took alot more effort. If you do not have anything on your system for Data Recovery you need to purchase EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional. Here at LifeOfAGeekAdmin we give EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional 5 stars.
Can it recover from a DVD? I had a camcorder that used miniDVD’s for it’s medium. Well a disk was improperly removed from the camera causing it to be inaccessible after hundreds of Photos and some video had been recorded to it. I kept the disk as I was hoping to recover the files. I found a software that could see the files but would not let me recover w/out paying for it. At the time I didn’t have the funds to buy it. I’ve forgotten the name of the application and have gone through probably 10-15 new computers since that time. I still have the disk and am wondering if I can recover it with EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional.
I’d like to know for sure so please test it with a DVD-RW that you’ve formated after having put lots of data on it. Thank you, and sorry for self replying š There was no “edit” option for my previous comment
DVD-RW or CD/DVD are not listed as supported for EaseUS but you can download the free trail and see if it reads the data.
