Ran into an issue on Ubuntu the other day in which network functions were having issues. Through a little PD found that IPV6 was the culprit. Here is a tip on how to disable IPV6 on Ubuntu 10.04. To check if IPv6 is disabled, run the following command: cat /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/disable_ipv6 0 means it’s enabled and 1 – disabled.
