How to Change the Registered To on Windows

have you ever been the recipient of a passed down computer and wanted to change the name displayed on Registered To when you open System in the Control Panel on Windows XP, Vista and 7?

Well look no further I have your answer and it is as simple as changing one registry value.

Open regedit and navigate to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion.

Find the RegisteredOwner key and double-click to edit the value. Type in the new name and click OK and your are complete.
